Straight From God's Word to Your Mouth

There are many times in the new testament where both Jesus and the apostles would use a portion of the Old Testament to pray. When we do the same, we are taking advantage of the mind of God to lead our prayers. What could direct a prayer more than to use the very scriptures from which we get our inspiration?

Look at Psalm 1. Read the first verse. Take the verse and apply it back to your life.

Is there someone or something it triggers in your mind to pray for?
Is there some character of God that you can thank Him for?
Has God done something for you that you should thank Him for?
Is there any sin you should confess?
Is there any promise you can claim?
Is there any command you should follow?

Repeat for verse 2, 3, and on.
